It's The End Of An Era For The Crunchyroll Store...

Sad News Folks, Some Major Depressing News Came Out Today About The Crunchyroll Store....

Crunchyroll has already significantly reduced its Blu-ray offerings and is shifting its store focus away from bulk physical media toward subscription-only, limited-release products, Since July 2026, Crunchyroll’s store has been restricted to Mega ($13.99/mo) and Ultimate ($17.99/mo) subscribers, with the rest of the catalog — including most manga, light novels, manhwa, danmei, and hundreds of Blu-ray/DVD anime sets — removed or delisted, The remaining Blu-rays are mostly exclusive Sony-owned titles (Funimation, Crunchyroll, Aniplex) and limited editions like The Apothecary Diaries SteelBook.

What’s left Of This Store Will Be ~387 Blu-ray/DVD items under “Home Entertainment” Focus now on collectibles, curated drops, and limited-release products inspired by anime, No indication of a full shutdown, but the store’s role in selling physical media is being redefined.

The Comes After Crunchyroll Hime’s main VTuber streaming channel has gone on hiatus and is no longer posting regular streams. Fans noticed this about a month ago, with the last active stream being roughly two years prior, According to community updates, she has moved away from her VTuber channel and is now focusing more on content on Crunchyroll’s main YouTube channel — such as interviews, previews, and watch-alongs — rather than gaming or variety streams, This shift suggests a partial “graduation” from her former role, where she was a mascot VTuber with regular live gaming content, to a more corporate event presenter role.

Well, Too Soon, Crunchyroll, First You Gave A VTuber Channel Based On Your Own Mascot A Hitaus, Then You Closed Half Of Crunchyroll Store, Well, At Least The Fans Deserved It... - R.T

Per Kotaku, PlayStation has begun notifying customers that some of the movies that they purchased will no longer be available in their libraries due to the expiration of a licensing agreement with Studio Canal. Sony is contacting PlayStation Store users who bought movies from the platform that were distributed by StudioCanal—like Terminator 2, And Total Recall—to say that “you will no longer be able to access your previously purchased content from Studio Canal, and it will be removed from your video library.” There’s no mention of any refunds or make-goods for the affected users. Sony simply says the films are going away “due to our content licensing agreements,” once again reaffirming the fact that you are never truly buying anything that’s digital, just temporarily renting it. Now, 551 films and TV series that are being pulled from people’s libraries, with no way to find it again After September 1

July film And TV Preview preview from Rina's Gossip Blog!

Movie Premieres:

 - Perhaps the strangest and most high-concept of all the franchise stars’ many screen appearances, Minions & Monsters sees the little banana-loving pills go Hollywood (and meet George Lucas). Set in 1920s Tinsel Town, the Minions (director and co-writer Pierre Coffin) use black magic to conjure a Lovecraftian blob named Goomi (Trey Parker), who takes them to Monster Island in search of the perfect star.

- Less than a decade after the release of the animated original, and two years after its long-awaited sequel, Disney returns to ancient Polynesia with a live-action remake of Moana. Despite the flesh, blood, and CGI, the story remains the same: Moana (Catherine Laga’aia), hits the high seas with a wise-cracking, musclebound demigod, Maui (a returning Dwayne Johnson), to recover an ancient artifact

- Christopher Nolan’s latest is also his most classically epic. Based on the classic epic, Homer’s Odyssey, Nolan brings his scale, ambition, and practicality to an IMAX-sized adaptation of Odysseus’ (Matt Damon)

-  Kevin Hart returns with his Ride Along director for the bachelor party comedy 72 Hours. Hart plays a 40-year-old accidentally added to a random group chat of 20-somethings (Marcello Hernández, Mason Gooding, Ben Marshall, and Kam Paterson). To prove his youth, he joins them in Miami for a three-day bachelor party. Hilarity, presumably, ensues.

- Happy Gilmore for the tennis world, The Dink stars Jake Johnson as a washed-up tennis pro, who takes up pickleball.  Mary Steenburgen helps him find his serve again. Written by Sean Clements and directed by Josh Greenbaum, the movie brings a host of ringers to the court, including Ed Harris, Ben Stiller, Patton Oswalt, Chloe Fineman, and Chris Parnell.

- Five years after cracking the multiverse wide open, Spider-Man: Brand New Day spins a whole new web for Spider-Man. After reversing the events of his whole life to save his friends, Peter Parker (Tom Holland) joins the Punisher (Jon Bernthal) to take on the Scorpion (Michael Mando) and win back his friends, MJ (Zendaya) and Ned (Jacob Batalon). To do so, he’ll get a little help from Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo). Oh, also, there are ninjas.

TV Premieres:

- Adventure Time: Side Quests (Hulu and Disney+, Monday, series premiere) It’s been 16 years since we first met Finn the Human and his magical canine pal Jake the Dog in the Cartoon Network favorite Adventure Time. Nearly two decades later, the duo is delightfully back adventuring across the Land of Ooo in this prequel series, with Sasha Knight voicing young Finn and O.G. series star John DiMaggio returning as his deeply loyal companion. (The cast also includes Tom Kenny as Ice King, Hynden Walch as Princess Bubblegum, Olivia Olson as Marceline, and Niki Yang as BMO.) Good news for fans of the original show: The spinoff will reportedly harken back to the monster-fighting and lighthearted hijinks of the early seasons.

- Elle (Prime Video, Wednesday, series premiere) Created by Laura Kittrell and executive produced by Reese Witherspoon, this Legally Blonde prequel series checks in with the blonde and bubbly Elle Woods (played by newcomer Lexi Minetree) six years before the events of the beloved 2001 film. Here, our high school-age heroine is forced to navigate a big move from sunny California to moody Seattle with her parents (June Diane Raphael and Tom Everett Scott), leaving her feeling like a fish out of water when it comes to school friendships and burgeoning romances. The comedy, which has already been renewed for a second season, also stars Chandler Kinney, Jacob Moskovitz, Gabrielle Policano, and the late James Van Der Beek in his final onscreen performance.

- X-Men ’97 (Disney+, Wednesday, season two premiere) Two years ago, Marvel Animation went back to the 1990s with this spirited revival of X-Men: The Animated Series. Now for its second season, the show’s going to the ’90s and beyond: Our merry band of mutants—Cyclops (Ray Chase), Jean Grey (Jennifer Hale), Wolverine (Cal Dodd), and Storm (Alison Sealy-Smith) among them—have been scattered through time, from Ancient Egypt to 3960 A.D. They’ll have to work together to time-travel home and defeat the mutant villain Apocalypse (Ross Marquand).
